Tryin’ something new: a Tattoo Request List.
In the past, I’ve opened my books a few times a year and chosen clients from the inquiries I received each time. That meant some of you had to submit inquiries over and over again, which doesn’t make much sense to me. So I’m changing it.
I’ve decided to keep an ongoing tattoo request list. You’ll submit your ideas once, and I’ll keep them on file as I schedule appointments throughout the year.
I’m just one guy and I’m lucky enough to get more requests than I can tattoo. I want to stay excited about what I’m making so I can always give my best to you.
Submit a request.
The tattoo request list will open for submissions a few times throughout the year. Once you submit a request, you do not need to submit again unless you’d like to update it when submissions are open next. If you aren’t selected right away, don’t worry. Your request never expires. Once you have submitted a request, it will stay on my list unless you ask for me to remove it.
I’ll choose projects as availability opens.
My artistic interests are always fluctuating (besides birds, I will always love and want to tattoo birds). I will select inquiries based on my current creative direction and availability, rather than on a first-come, first-served basis. My best work happens when I’m inspired, so that’s what I’m trying to prioritize. I will usually be booking 4-6 weeks ahead. If you’re traveling for your tattoo, your appointment can be booked further out depending on my availability.
We’ll meet and schedule your appointment.
When you are selected, you will receive an email from me to schedule a video consultation. The details of your tattoo and appointment will be solidified at that time. After our face-to-face consultation, you will receive an email with your appointment date, a Stripe portal to pay for your upcoming session, and other important bits and bobs. IMPORTANT: I do not take deposits. If I select your project, all scheduling and payment information will come through the process described here. If someone contacts you claiming to be me and asks you to send money outside of that process, it is a scam. Stay safe!
I hope this system will feel less frustrating than submitting a new inquiry every time my books open, and I hope it will allow our interests to align with the correct timing to produce an amazing piece.
How it works.
My rate for custom tattoo work is $3000 per session. Each session reserves a full appointment day with me, which typically includes 4-6 hours of tattoo time. Before we book, I’ll let you know how many sessions I expect the piece to require so that you have a clear idea of the anticipated total cost. Most tattoos take me one session to complete.
Every custom tattoo project also includes a signed 1/1 archival print of the finished artwork, printed by me here at the studio during your appointment. I spend a lot of time drafting and fully rendering each tattoo before it goes on the body, and I want you to be able to take that part of the process home with you!

What I Love to tattoo (and things I won’t do)
You’ve probably seen my tattoos if you made it this far, so you probably have some idea of what my body of work looks like. Here’s a quick, non-exhaustive list of stuff that interests me.
Birds. Always. All of them. Any of them. Bring me the birds.
Fish. Because birds but water.
Wildlife in general. Any animal. And yep, even plants.
Subjects from folklore and mythology. Any place, any time period.
Lots more! I LOVE reading your ideas and finding inspiration in things I never would have thought of on my own. I can’t make any guarantees, but if you want a tattoo from me that doesn’t fit into the above categories, don’t be shy.

Anything copyrighted or from existing IP. That includes book characters/concepts/symbols, anime and video game characters, existing art that came from someone else’s brain, etc. We’re doin’ original work only ‘round here! It’s special because only you have it!
A PERSONAL NOTE (read if ya want)
I understand how fortunate I am to have so much interest in my work. It’s been my childhood dream to create art for a living. Because I’m just one dude who draws everything from scratch (which takes a lot of time), the number of projects I can take on every month is of course, way less than I’d like in an ideal world. I know that some of you have applied multiple times, and I want you to know that I recognize that, I appreciate that, and I think about it all the time.
So thank you for taking the time to send me your ideas, and for supporting my work. I’ll tattoo until my hands stop working. Well into my old age. If you want art from me to you, the odds are pretty good that our paths will cross at some point.
