GENERAL QUESTIONS?
HOURLY RATE: $180/hr
Due to demand my workload is somewhat selective, and I will not be able to take on everyone that requests a tattoo. I would love to have infinite time, but that is not an option. I am more likely to take on some tattoos than others as it fits with my style or ability.
It’s sometimes hard to take art as a visual medium and put it into words. My personal style is best described as “Illustrative”, with a preference for varied linework combined with shading or color. I also work in styles such as illustrative or painterly realism, ornamental tattoos, geometric pieces, blackwork and dotwork. I am also proficient with tattoo and scar cover-ups. I like working with tattoos that flow with the body, be they minimalist or complex. I often am inspired by the stylings of art nouveau, and classical fairytale illustrative art work. I enjoy working with both traditionally ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ styles. I'm at home with both skulls and spiders, and flowers and gems.
While I encourage clients to send references and examples of the styles of tattoos/designs they are drawn to I am looking to focus on pieces in which I will be able to have some creative freedom. I am quickly growing away from “simple” and into “elegant” in my designs. If you’re not sure what that means, then please email with your idea! Like I said, art can be really difficult to describe! I will be especially interested to hear about projects pertaining to mythology, folklore, fairy tales, fantasy, science fiction, gaming, and other geek fandoms. Thematically I am happy to create tattoos that are anywhere from beautiful to macabre, or a wonderful combination of the two.
I focus more on art creation than recreation these days. I am less likely to take a commission that is based closely off of someone else’s tattoo design, but am still open to discussing pieces based off of non-tattoo artwork (for example: pop-culture geek art, or recreations of classical art). I want to help create an original and one of a kind tattoo for you, that is fun and exciting for both of us! I don’t always know what that looks like, which is why I encourage you once more to email ideas even if you think I might not take the commission! You just never know!
*I do not Tattoo Minors. Tattoos are available to those aged 18+*
All tattoos will require an official consultation to discuss your idea, and hammer out the details. This consult will likely be virtual online, unless it requires an in-person element. At the time of the consultation we can schedule your appointment if you're ready!
To set an appointment I require a non refundable deposit of $100 (which comes off of the cost of the tattoo on the final session). This will be collected through Square Invoice during the consult. Once the deposit is received it begins the process. During the consultation we will also fill out the Consent forms for you procedure*.
BOOKING INFORMATION
DEPOSITS
A non-refundable deposit is required in order to book a tattoo appointment
• 12 hour notice is required for rescheduling of your appointment without penalty. This must be conducted via phone or email (available in appointment confirmation email). Failure to do so will result in your initial deposit being forfeited and another deposit of the same value will be required to schedule another appointment. In case of illness of yourself or direct-contact please notify Robyn even if it is less than 12 hours before appointment, to discuss options.
•Please show up on time. Any appointment showing up over 15 minutes late without calling and receiving the artist’s approval first, will be treated as a cancellation and will require another deposit to reschedule.
• Multiple reschedules incur a fee. Any reschedule after the initial reschedule will cause you to lose your initial deposit and require another of the same value to make and reinstate another appointment.
• Any changes you request after the initial consultation that require a complete re-draw or change of idea will require an additional deposit. A deposit for a custom drawing includes one sketch and lay out, with room for minor adjustments. Minor adjustments are expected, as it is a collaboration between you and the artist and will not incur an extra deposit. In the event of a complete re-draw or change of idea will incur another deposit. It is important to relay your ideas fully to the artist during the consultation.
•Robyn retains rights to their artwork. The drawings and sketches done for your tattoo are property of the artist. The deposits are made for the service of drawing them, but artists retain ownership and rights to the drawing. In the event you do not get the tattoo, you do not own rights to the drawing and the artist can have it available to tattoo it on another client.
